To Sandy Beach Park
Coming from the north (Route 81 South) and from the west (Route 17 East).
Travel either south along Route 81 or west along Route 17 until you come to where 81 and 17 merge in a perplexing confluence of overpasses and exits in Binghamton. Get off on exit 4S (Binghamton). Go down to the bottom of the exit. Stay in the same lane through the traffic light at the bottom of the ramp and take the Robinson Street exit. You値l pass under a little bridge and go through the next light onto Brandywine Avenue (or street, or whatever). You値l go under two sets of train tracks. Go through the next light and you値l come to another, where you値l cross Route 11 and get onto Tompkins. You値l go over a bridge and go through two more traffic lights before you get to a third. Take a left here onto Conklin Avenue. Cruise along this lovely stretch for another 1.4 miles. At this point, after you have experienced the evidence of the Binghamton Highway Department's skill and crossed a snazzy aqueduct over some more train tracks you値l come to the entrance to Sandy Beach Park. It痴 at the bottom of the slope coming down from the bridge on the left, so don稚 miss it. The pitch is at the far end of the parking lot. See ya there!
Coming from the south (Route 81 North).
Get thee onto Route 81 North and hence into New York State. Get off on Exit 2W and cruise for about 1 mile until you reach a traffic light. Take a right at this traffic light onto Colesville Road. Almost immediately, you'll hit a second traffic light. Turn right at the light. Take this road for .7 of a mile (over a bridge that spans the glorious Susquehanna and around a tight turn) until you come to yet another traffic light. Stay in the left-most lane so that when the light finally turns green you can make a left turn onto Conklin Avenue. Now mosey along this finely paved strip of rock for approximately 1.6 miles. Sandy Beach Park is immediately after the City of Binghamton sign on the right side of the road (where there is also - if you pay attention to such things - a sign to reduce speed to 30 MPH), so don't cruise past it. There is parking aplenty...
